PD Easter Egg Hunt

Today was the annual PD Easter Egg Hunt, an event that holds a special place in my heart. I remember searching for eggs as a child, then I graduated to the bunny for 10 years and now I am the resident photographer. It was an extra special egg hunt this year because my 8 month old niece came to enjoy the festivities. One of these days, my life will come full circle and my children will start hunting for eggs on the lawn in front of the Rohnert Park Plant. Damon and I tried to bring Shasta, but we decided it wasn't a good idea since technically I was working.
The photos are of Ryanne, the Straub's, Dave Foster's granddaughter Kendra, Kathy and her grandchildren and the Houstons. All around good time with good people.

Welcome Spring

Even though it is supposed to rain this week, spring has officially begun. The days are longer, the nights are ligher and the trees are blooming. We celebrated the change of season with an early walk this week. (Usually we take our walks around 9:00 when it is dark and we need a break from doing work at home.) Here are some photos of the neighborhood and the backyard welcoming spring.

Boys Will Be Boys

Below are some pictures of Damon, Casen and Trenton (with Cy and Shasta) playing in the backyard. These pictures are a perfect example of boys being boys. It was great to see our backyard so full of life in the spring sun.

Shasta and Trenton are the perfect size together!

Goofy boys!

Scandia...All Kinds of Fun Wrapped Up Into One!

When our favorite little friend turned 4, Damon and I decided that Casen Straub had all the trucks and Carhart's he needed, and that his future birthday presents from us would be "activities."

So, last year we took him to see the movie Curious George. It was an interesting and unforgettable experience. I was worried about being in charge of such a precious piece of life, Damon fell asleep in the movie theatre, Casen wanted yum-yums (M&M's) and ice cream...in the end I decided that I loved having a date with Casen and that children are expensive.

For his birthday this year, we decided to take Casen to Scandia. The day turned out to be absolutely beautiful and it was hard to tell which one of us had the most fun. Here are some of the many pictures to prove it!

Casen really wanted to ride on the "Jet Ski's" (aka: Bumper Boats). The first time he went to Scandia he was too little, so now that he is 5 he was old enough. Damon and I are happy that he was tall enough, this was sooooo much fun!

Next year Damon says we are going to Marin World :)

Shopping for Shasta

Cyrus decided that he didn't like Shasta's red collar the other week, so he chewed it off of her neck. What a nice brother.

So, she went "naked" for a few days until her parents finally went shopping. Her mom, really wanted to buy her a pink camo collar. Her dad, was not so sure. We settle don a bright purple number (I was shocked that Damon liked the purple better than the pink camo, aren't you?). But then we changed our minds. Finally, after too many minutes in the Petco doggie collar isle, we made our selection.

The final product, shown below, was a good choice, considering we had a matching leash at home. (I purchased the leash a long time ago when I didn't live with Cy and I needed to take him for walks when he was visiting). I think is looks good on her...maybe next time the pink camo collar can win.

Another Family Dinner

It seems like this blog is all about family dinners, where I take lots of photos...and this is a good thing. Here are some from dinner at Loren and Kris' on Monday night with Leana and Ryanne. As always, the food was fabulous and the company was even better.
