Weekend in Tahoe - Part Three

Back at the house Damon and I got some work done while the kiddos played.

I would have really liked where we stayed if the house was a little cleaner and if there was fresh snow outside.  The backyard would have been perfect for sledding, but there hasn't been much snow in Tahoe this year.

Since she didn't nap, we watched Cars so that Cambrie would at least rest for a while.  Shasta joined in on the resting action as well.

Love these kiddos!

While I was cleaning up from dinner, the big kids played a lively game of Twister upstairs in the loft.

Saturday night was a perfect sleeping night for her - she just wanted us to be spoiled for a night since Sunday was epic (in a not-so-fun-no-sleep-at-all-for-anyone way.)

And, I don't know how we are ever going to transition her away from her crib.  C is a mover and shaker while sleeping.  Everytime I would look at her she would be in a different spot in the room - most of the time she wasn't even near her little bed.  Sooo funny!

Weekend in Tahoe - Part Two

On Saturday morning we got ready to head out to the snow...it is quite a process getting everything together for a two year old for 60 minutes of fun.  But it was worth it.

I thought that she would be more excited about the whole experience, but in typical Cambrie fashion she needed a long time to warm up to the new environment so her excitement didn't come until the end.

Look - snow!

She loved throwing snow balls at Shasta (or at me)...

She was super cuddly and I loved it - it isn't very often that she requests to sit in my lap.

Love this one...

She went down the hill one time with Damon and Shasta :)

Love this picture too...handsome hubby :)

And one of the cute kiddo...

Her favorite part was being pulled on the sled, just like last year.

Michelle is such a dare-devil - she is all about the sledding :)

Our only two family pics from the weekend...

C was beyond ready for a nap by this point, so we headed back to the house for her to nap (which never really happened despite all of our time and tricks trying.)

Weekend in Tahoe - Part One

For the 6th year we headed up to Tahoe for Presidents Day weekend with the Straub family.  We left around noon on Friday so that Damon could work a half day.  C was excited to be surrounded by toys and bags in the truck - haha!

We hit some traffic on the way up (which we expected) and were amazed at what a great little traveler our girl is.  When we arrived at the house, the boys were so excited to see Cambrie and show her the snow.  She loved looking at 'frosty' (aka: snow) out the window on the drive and she got very upset when we didn't stop by the side of the road and let her play in it.  She started putting on her shoes and everything :(

We headed to dinner and the boys hopped in our car to spend time with their favorite girl.  Love this picture!!!!

Since Michelle and I always grocery shop when we are up there, we went to Round Table for dinner.  It was awesome because Casen and Trenton basically watched Cambrie while we were able to eat our food.

They were playing with the arcade games and asked Michelle and I for money a few times.  Of course, C picked up on it and them kept going over to Damon asking for money and looking in his pockets.  She cracks me up!

Back at the house all the kiddos enjoyed playing with Cambrie's toys...

Surprisingly Cambrie slept pretty well the first night.  We were able to pull a mattress onto the floor and she loved her 'little' bed.  We just never know how she is going to react in a new environment.  Some nights (and days) it works and other times it just doesn't.

More on our adventures tomorrow!

Ladies and Babies Dinner

Some of the ladies, babies and hubbies came over for dinner the other weekend.  It has been awhile since I cooked a fancier meal and had people over - even though it was a busy weekend, I was super happy to entertain for the evening.  And, C insisted on wearing her meow-meow dress with sparkly shoes.  Her style just cracks me up!  Here are the littles looking at Shasta in the backyard.

C is getting really good with her letters and knows them all by the names of her friends and family.  Here she is showing PJ the Avery letter...

I decided to plate the kiddos dinner first (don't worry, pasta was added to the bowls) and have them eat first in hopes that would mean that us adults could enjoy dinner without worrying about helping our children.

It was a great idea in theory, we had some interruptions in the beginning, but we convinced them all to go play.

While we ate - they made a beautiful mess in our front room :)

We had homemade ice cream and carrot cake to celebrate Mer's birthday.

She was surprised about the candles and the singing :)

PJ is ready to be a big sister in May!

A self-time portrait...

The ladies and babies - love them all!

As we were saying goodbye, Cambrie jumped out of Damon's arms and wanted Mike to hold her.  It was super funny and a little uncharacteristic of her.  Too funny!
