On Mothers Day this happened....
13.1 miles - 6 miles inside the park, 7 outside.
A 4:15 a.m. wake up call. 16,000 other runners (although only 13,000 ended up officially crossing the finish line).
Although I clocked the longest time per mile that I have ever really run, I had more fun that I imagined.
Ending in a triumphant finish line crossing in the hot southern California sun.
With tears streaming down my face I received my first half marathon race medal earned in the happiest place on earth.
Here is what I posted on facebook:
It's only 11:00 and this Mother's Day is better than I ever could have imagined. This morning I completed my first registered run, the Disneyland Tinkerbell half marathon. My goal was to finish and have fun. Both were accomplished. During training I ran with my mind and my music. Today I ran with 16,000 others and was cheered on by characters, cast members and community. I cried running across the finish giving high fives to Mickey and Minnie. I cried when I got to see my Damon and Cambrie at mile 6. I dedicated each mile to different momma friends and family members in honor of Mother's Day. Now I'm enjoying the poolside cabana with this family of mine who I am so proud of. #tinkhalf #makingmemories #morellistyle
