Shasta the Hunter

**Hunting Practice Pictures Below - Proceed with Caution**
Just wanted to give you a warning that you might see some blood, feathers and other bird related hunting issues in the pictures below.
On Saturday I ran home during the Relay for Life in Sebastopol and Damon was on the side yard holding a pigeon. (They are nesting in our roof so Damon took matters into his own hands). Shasta was freaking out...she wanted that bird so bad...so we decided to have some hunting practice in our backyard (not as good as the ranch, but it works).
Anyways, we hid the bird all over the backyard and practiced having her sit until told to go get it and bringing the bird back to us. She was so excited- it was awesome. She turned into a hunting machine and into an entirely different dog, which is something I haven't really seen before. This was her first time practicing with something bigger (and bloodier) than a blackbird and she did really well, her instincts are amazing. We were very proud parents!

Father's Day at the Ranch

We spent father's day at the cabin with my side of the family and then went up to the ranch to visit Damon's parents. It was a beautiful night, so Damon and I visited our wedding hill, shot some birds for Shasta, took the kids swimming and drove around the property in search of this season's deer. There are quite a few pictures, I was having fun experimenting with the color settings on my computer. Happy Father's Day to all the dad's...we appreciate you!

Congrats Morgan and Justin!

Morgan and Justin were married on Saturday night at the Madrona Manor in Healdsburg. It was the perfect ending to a 3 day celebration including wine tasting, a memorable rehearsal dinner and a relaxing day with friends followed by an evening ceremony and a lively wedding reception. We are all so excited for them, however, we are also sad that Morgan will be moving to Boston on Thursday morning. Enjoy the pictures :)

Here is Lisa, the maid of honor, with her fabulous parents.

Brooklyn caught the bouquet- the photo below shows her boyfriends reaction. I shared with them that I caught Dana's bouquet at her wedding and I was the next to get married :)

I couldn't resist taking some artistic photos....

Dancin' at KJ's & Toolin' on Fourth Street

This weekend was full of fun and I am sad that it is over! It started with the Peggy Sue's Beer and Chili Cook-Off on Friday night with Damon and both sides of the family. That was followed by a night of dancing at Kodiak Jack's for a "last night out" with Morgan before she gets married and moves to Boston. KJ's is always great on Friday nights, when the serious dancers are there, so Morgan and Meredith's mom's joined in on the fun too. We cannot believe that we have been dancing at Kodiak's since we were 18!!!

I love the following picture...it is of Morgan, Meredith and their mom's doing the chicken dance. It makes me laugh :)

On Saturday night we went to downtown Santa Rosa to "tool around" 4th street with the old cars. At my request, my dad entered the Camero and I had a great time driving everyone around downtown. We had alot of people with us (probably around 25), so it was a great evening!

This picture of my Grandma in my Uncle Chuck's truck is adorable...she looks so excited!

My cousin Chelsea, her friend and my Uncle Dickie in my Papa Hugh's 1962 Corvette.

Here are Damon and Loren in the fancy Yenko Chevelle, which ended up winning first place in its class at the judging.

The moms...who were attracting lots of attention that night!

Already looking forward to next year...

There hasn't been too much excitement in our world lately. I got super sick after Memorial Day weekend and have spent the last week recovering. Damon has been busy focusing on work and being productive, as always. We are enjoying the nice evning weather with lots of walks with the dogs and, of course, BBQ dinners. The good thing about not feeling well is that I had time to organize the files on my computer and figure out what to do during my free time.
The only photo worthy event was a fabulous bridesmaid luncheon that Morgan's mom hosted last weekend in Healdsburg at Ravenous. I cannot believe that she is getting married in a week...more photos of that even to come!

The California bridal party (Jenny and Nicol are bridesmaid who live in the midwest): Me, Lisa (also the maid of honor), Morgan (the bride of course), Brooklynn and Meredith.
