A Few Random Pictures

Krystina, who I job share with, and her adorable little man came over to our house for dinner last week. J is getting so smart, here is he showing me his ears :)

And here is my best girl eating an assortment of wheat bread and chicken.

I do love random pictures :)

Walking Around Spring Lake

Last Saturday I met my former MBA peer at Spring Lake for the 3.5 mile walk, we started at the boat dock and there are sooo many more hills when you start walking from that direction. I must admit, I was a little sore on Sunday - I blame it on pushing my 20 pound baby in her stroller :)

The loud ducks woke C up from her nap, but she didn't seem to mind too much.

This is Sophia, my friends daughter who is 3 weeks old than Cambrie.

After our sweating walk, we headed to the playground so Jeminah's older daughter could play and so I could feed C. I had a client meeting and wanted to stop to get a soda and freshen up before hand, so I headed out early and happened to see some of my favorite people on my way to the parking lot - it was Avery, Alicia and two of their friends. So, I decided to forgo my be super prepared for my client meeting and hung out with them for awhile.

We even rode the train together!

Then, I decided I needed to leave. Then, I realized I lost my ipod touch and went back to try and find it. No such luck, but I ran into all my friends again, this time they were riding the ponies :)

I love living somewhere where I can run into my favorite family members!

Cambrie at Kindercare

I am going to make a point of bringing in my camera every few weeks when I pick C up from Kindercare. I always get excited to see what activity she is doing when I pick her up. On Friday she was playing with one of the baby toys all the way in the corner of the room.

When she heard my voice she tried so hard to get up on her own but her stomach muscles couldn't quite make it from her position in the boppy. On Thursday when I picked her up she crawled soooo fast across the floor to me with her big ol' smile on her pretty little face. The infant room does an art project every week and they decorate the walls until the parents get to take them home. Here is Cambrie's feet print corn stalk...

And some pictures of her doing other projects...

This is her teacher Miss Monika.

And this is Miss Lea.

I am still very impressed with the center, everyone always says hello to me as I walk in the door (the teachers who aren't even Cambrie's) and everything is as clean as it can be. They wear gloves when changing and feeding the babies - very impressive in my opinion. Picture day was on Monday, more on that later.

Cambrie is continuing to enjoy being social with friends, I can already see a big difference in her personality. Drop offs on some mornings are still hard, I think most of the reason is because we usually have to wake her up to go and she still wants to lay in be and cuddle. :)

Costco and Cambrie

Cambrie loves shopping and doesn't mind me lugging her all over the place day in and day out. I thought that it was a phase that would only last while she was a newborn, but to this day she continues to love to be out and about studying the world. She especially likes when I go to Costco and she gets to sit next to some big purchases...

I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but Cambrie is a big scratcher. She loves feeling different textures with her little hands. One of her favorite thing to do is scratch items that are near her - whether its my arm, her carseat, her stroller or any of the many items she takes off of my desk while working in my lap. When she sleeps in the pack and play while we travel we often would wake up in the night hearing her 'scratch scratch scratch.' In the above photo she was delighted to explore new materials on the ride home from Costco.

Ladies and Babies

I do love hanging out with my favorite ladies and babies, as I like to call us. Morgan, Meredith and I (plus of course of littles) spent all day together last Monday. Doing, well, in short, nothing. It was fabulous. We just sat in Meredith's house oohing and awwing over every little noise Payton made and laughing at the antics of Cambrie and Noah both together and with Mer's puppy Boone...

Cambrie was a little confused as to why this dog wasn't black like her sister but she warmed right up to him anyways with a swift tail grab :)

After naps and snacks these two were ready to play play play (or, in Cambrie's case, kiss, kiss, kiss)...

She was really putting her moves on Noah and it made us all laugh. Poor Noah was such a good sport for Cambrie rough housing with him.

And Noah was so nice to share his toys with his friend.

But, the true star of the day is this blond hair blue eyed beauty...

Cambra Family BBQ

This past Saturday the Cambra family gathered at my Auntie Susan's house for a lovely backyard BBQ. It has been awhile since we have all been together and I missed everyone, plus they got to see my drool faced baby girl sleeping when we arrived.

Cambrie took a nice swing ride in the backyard - it turned out to be a super warm afternoon.

Our quick attempt at a family photo...

Cambrie enjoyed playing with an empty soda cup...

And she was super excited to see Avery arrive once she woke up from her nap. These girls just love one another :)

Fun times - hopefully we won't wait as long to get together again :)

Random Pictures

Half of Cambrie's closet is full of dresses...it makes me sad since she is crawling all over the place which isn't super conducive for dresses.

Happy girl getting her diaper changed by her favorite guy in the world...

This was how we slept last Thursday night...Cambrie had/has a cold and she slept better upright in her vibrating chair. So I slept on the couch...

My sick little girl holding my baby blanket...

I will miss those chubby hands when she gets older and turns into a big girl...

Raspberry Blowing Contest

Cambrie started quite a raspberry blowing contest this past weekend, of course, she settled down once I got my camera out but she starts up again at the end.

P.S. I just replayed this video with Cambrie on my lap and she smiles and smiled and smiled. She thought the baby she was looking at was super cute :)

Self Portrait Times Three

07.29.05:

When Damon and I were in Tahoe with the Straub's in July we found ourselves at the bridge in Tahoe City looking at the fish in the creek. My mind started recalling all the various other times we stood in the same spot doing the same thing. Then I started thinking about the dates of our previous visits and with a quick blog check on my phone discovered that in our seven years together we stood on that bridge together three separate times on the same date.

Apparently we like hanging on the bridge in Tahoe City of July 29th.

When I blogged about this previously in July of 2007 this is what I had to say about the difference between the two pictures: "Isn't that crazy that we were at the same place on the same date, just two years later? I think that the difference in my sunglasses style is funny! The 2005 picture was taken after Damon and I went to Cedarville squirrel shooting after I returned from the first Alaska cruise with the family. After Cedarville we spent a night in Tahoe City and then drove around the lake to South Shore."

I already have a wedding booked for July 28th next year, so I don't think that we will be repeating history again. But who knows, maybe we will is 2013 :)

Happy Eight Month Birthday Cambrie Loren

Sigh...each month we get closer and closer to the one year mark. Double sigh. Despite my ever growing desire to somehow stop you from growing, what have you been up to this past month? Oh. so. much.

- You learned how to clap this month and it is the cutest thing ever. As soon as you hear your music playing you clap your hands. While you are crawling you stop to take a break roll on your back and clap your hands. When you are nursing you clap your hands (well, technically one of your hands, but you use my chest as the other hand). You love clapping your hands.

- You are cutting lots of teeth this week...poor thing. You haven't had anymore break through since your six month mark, but I have a feeling there will be lots of tooth developments this month.

- You are crawling with your belly up off the floor and you are fast! I can no longer safely leave you anywhere.

- You love to practice walking and standing and being too big for me to handle.

- You are doing good on eating foods and love to feed yourself. We are working on more and more people foods everyday. Today you enjoyed some black beans from my burrito at Rubios :)

- You love your bath time and can spend so much time kicking up a storm and playing with your bath water cups.

- You still love being around other kids, it is a good thing that you have lots of cousins and friends to play with.

- You are excelling from your time at KinderCare, although sometimes I think we shouldn't have you go there because you are learning too much and getting too big too quickly :)

- You still love going outside. Whenever you dad watches you in the evening when I have a photo session the two of you lay on a blanket in the grass. Although sometimes you get confused and start eating the grass, much like your sister Shasta.

-Since you have started pulling yourself to a standing position, we had to lower your crib this weekend. It startled me when I glanced into your room and you were standing up looking at me.

I know that I am forgetting to write so many details about how wonderful and fun and perfect you are...but I certainly hope that you never forget how much you are loved.

Welcome Miss Payton June

This past Saturday Cambrie and I, along with Morgan and Noah, headed to Kaiser in Santa Rosa to meet our newest friend, Payton June, the first child of Meredith and Mike Giles. We spend almost two hours in the hospital, my two best girl friends and our babies. It was so surreal to have three little ones under eight months old together in the same room. Gosh, back in high school if someone would have told us about this moment I don't know if we would have believed it. It is truly amazing to have such close friends all start their families in the same time period. Oh the fun that we will all have!

Noah and Cambrie were both excited to see one another and return to the same floor where they spent their first day :)

Ahhh, the sweetness of a newborn baby snuggled on her mama.

Morgan and I just couldn't get over how light Payton is to hold...crazy that our little ones were ever around that size. Payton was 7 pounds and 12 ounces, Noah was 8 pounds 1 ounce and Cambrie was 8 pounds and 13 ounces.

My daughters hair looks so light next to mine!

Us girls and our babes...

I am looking forward to seeing Meredith turn into a mom (she is already such a natural) and cannot wait to see all the surprises, smiles and lovin' that PJ will bring into our lives.
