Bay Area Discovery Kids Museum

Two weekends ago I had a photo session at Cavallo Point in Sausilito so we decided to make a family day of it and went to the Bay Area Kids Discovery Museum.  It was Damon's first time going and Cambrie loved it just as much as the first time that she went with Noah (blog post is here.)  

Of course, the first thing that she wanted to play with was the water and the fishes :)

It is so much so going places with Damon - I have more time to enjoy the moment since there are two sets of eyes on the quick as lighting toddler, plus I get to take pictures without being so worried about missing something.

Once again, she dominated the shape sorter bench and was very sad that there wasn't a triangle block to put in the triangle hole.  She is so funny and gets so upset about little things that aren't 'perfect.'

During our time in the tot room a little boy had an epic tantrum and the parents just sat there watching him thrash around on the floor yelling.  Loud.  (I thought Cambrie was pretty loud, but I think a little differently now.) It was interesting to discretely observe the situation and provided a good talking point with Damon and I of what we might have done differently.  Cambrie was also very concerned about him and wanted to give him a hug.  Her innocent compassion makes me a better person.

Cambrie had a great time and it was fun to show Damon to museum.  We are getting one in Santa Rosa this summer - I am looking forward to purchasing memberships there and spending many hours exploring with my family.

Fishing with Papa

On Cambrie's actual birthday Damon had to fly down to Visalia for work, so we didn't know if he would be home in time for dinner.  To keep us company and keep the celebration going, my parents came down to play with some of C's new birthday toys.  She loved showing my parents her new fishing box (thanks Krystina and James) while wearing her new Minnie jacket.

I think that she is going to be quite the fisher gal :)

Papa's are so much fun :)

Damon was able to make it home for dinner and we headed to El Torito for a nice meal.  We have a great day celebrating our favorite two year old.

Pump It Up (aka: Jumpy Jumpy)

I love groupon, livingsocial and all 'deal' websites.  I have found some good finds, including activities for our family.  In December there was a deal for free play passes at Pump It Up, so I got one for my sister and I to take the girls.

Cambrie and I arrived a little while before Alicia did and every car that drove into the parking lot Cambrie asked if it was Auntie and Avery.  It was her first time sitting forward facing in my car and she loved it - although all she does is ask lots of questions :)

When they arrived the girls got in the back of my car and played for a few minutes.  They were so happy that we wondered why we were taking them somewhere fun.  Haha!

It was interesting to see how they both reacted to the place.  C was her usual shy self when in a new environment, but she warmed up and then didn't want to leave.  We ended up playing for almost 90 minutes - it was exhausting for everyone involved!

Landon joined in on the fun too, he liked the loud music :)

Since Cambrie was't quite big enough I had the do everything with her, which I wasn't expecting. I was sweating, got a rug (or slide?) burn on my elbow and seriously used stomach muscles that haven't been used in forever (well, that isn't saying much - haha!)  Cambrie and I went up and down the slide several times and each time I wished that Damon was there with us.  Avery was big enough to make it on her own and loved it.

After playing we went over to my grandparents for lunch.  The girls really enjoyed watching the tractors work on the house across the street.

Cambrie is still talking about the jumpy-jumpy place, in fact her she thinks that it is a school and wants to go there instead of her daycare. Heehee!

Last Kindermusic Class of the Semester

On C's birthday we finished up our last class of the Kindermusic semester.  On our first day of class we were so excited to see our friends Shannon and Estelle.  We really enjoyed playing with them and learning together.

 

The last day of class also happened to be Cambrie's second birthday :)

 

Sometimes she is super shy in class and over times she is really involved and independent.  This day she was not attached to me, so I was able to get some pictures of my cutie.

I am always impressed with her musical skills and her 'following' skills too.  She will copy Miss Fran, the teacher, on everything.

A little scarf dancing...the scarfs went high when the music was uptempo and then low to the ground when the music changed.

I swear all the kiddos love putting the toys/props/instruments away afterwards. 

 

Each week a student brought a book to share with the class that went along with the theme.  Since it was C's birthday I went a little overboard on the book and made a custom album with my printing company.  I was shocked when Cambrie went and sat in the chair to share her story.

 

All kiddos were excited to see Cambrie with Mickey Mouse :)

Cambrie's Second Birthday - Part Three

Looks like this will be another multi-part post series - there are just so many pictures I want to share and commemorate in my blog books.  When we first arrived at the gym Cambrie was so confused because there weren't any friends there.  Usually there are other kids when we arrive, so it was really confusing for her. She calls everyone her 'friends.'  It is super cute.  So, as people started arriving she said 'come play with me friends.'

Love this beautiful picture of Tenaya with her oldest son, Tyler.

The circle time was so fun, especially because I had Damon be in charge of Cambrie so I could take pictures.  It was fun to see her reaction to the songs and games since I am usually the one to play that part.

Carwash bubble time!

The teachers are awesome and change the center activities several times throughout the party.  They set up the carwash, followed by a puppet tent and then brought out a train for the kiddos.

Tyler was so sweet with Cambrie and held her hands during a train ride.  Little love he is!

I am now a big fan of having parties for the little ones not at our house.  We are blessed with a ton of friends with kiddos and it just works so well having a fun activity for them.  Less for me to clean, more fun for the little ones and unique memories for my daughter.
