Austin Weekend - Part Two

Back to Austin posts :)

On Saturday morning I requested to just sleep in while the other girls explored the area.  It isn't very often that I can sleep until my tired soul desires.  Once I woke up and got ready I walked downtown to met the girls at a local restaurant for breakfast.  It was pretty muggy on Saturday, in comparison to Friday, and the clouds in the sky were rolling and beautiful.

To show how much live music is embedded into the culture, this restaurant had about half a dozen tables and stage.  With live music.  On a Saturday morning.  It was lovely.

Back at the hotel the girls got ready for the day.  Lisa and I laughed uncontrollably at Lindsay's very different shoe styles.  Haha...they are all the same shoes, just different colors.  :)

We decided to walk to the neighborhood where we took the cab on Friday early evening.  It was a nice walk, especially since we were able to enjoy the view of the river on our way.

Some lovely graffiti on the wall...

We went back to Hotel San Jose to grab a few photos during the daytime.

And, of course, a self time photo or two :)

There were food truck vendors all over town, including about a dozen in one parking lot.

We shopped about about half a dozen different boutique stores and Lindsay bought a ton of fabulous items and Lisa found the perfect dress for her friends wedding this summer.  I tried very hard to make a purchase or two for myself, but I was unsuccessful.  At least I tried!

We decided to by pass the truck vendors and head to an outdoor grill, Doc's, since we decided it was happy hour again.

I requested a lighter style local Texas beer and it was lovely.

Doc's was packed and we had a good time people watching, eating some appetizers and taking pictures of our mirrored reflection in the garage doors on the ceiling.

Sometimes we were a little anti-social during our happy hour, but we were productive.  Here the lovely L's are booking a dinner reservation for the evening and scoping out the rest of the evening entertainment plans.

A mini-beer floating in an ice cold margarita...

We started our walk back to the Omni taking in the sights of skyline amongst the big ol' Texas sky.

More on the escapades on our Saturday night later this week :)

Playdate with James

I feel very fortunate that C and I have many friends with little ones who are available for playdates and dinner dates and everything in between.  This includes my fabulous job share partner, Krystina and her two year old son James.  We talk about our babies all day long at work (on Wednesday we both work in the office together) and share text pictures with each other on our off days.  I cannot imagine job sharing with anyone but Miss Krystina.  I love her and her son.  And so does Cambrie.  Here are a few images from our playdate last week :)

Hugs for C...

and maybe a little kiss too :)

Playing in the Backyard

Since the weather has been warmer, we have been starting to enjoy more time in the backyard.  I think that we need to gather some toys for C to play with outside once the summer gets underway.    For now, she is perfectly content to run around on the grass chasing her sister.

We are so happy that Cambrie has Shasta to play with.  They truly do get along very well with one another and it is adorable to see their relationship grow.

Lunch Downtown with Dada

After music class last week we had lunch with Damon.  Usually after music or other downtown errands, I meet up with my girlfriends and Damon was feeling a little left out.

We picked him up from work and headed over to Rubio's to eat lunch outside.  I ordered C a cheese quesadilla, but they gave us a bean and cheese burrito.  Thankfully, she loved it.

She always makes such funny faces for the camera...hopefully she will 'behave' during our family photos this weekend!

Ladies and Babies and Music Class Too

My sweet girl just loves kitties...and loves going to Morgan and Auntie Leana's houses to pet the pretty kitties.

The Monday that we returned home from Santa Cruz we had a little baby and lady play date over at Morgan's so that Bri could see all the little/big ones.

Noah does a great job sharing his toys...Cambrie, not so much, she just loves playing and doesn't always realize that not all toys are hers :)

Our attempts at a friend photo...haha!

Why is my child always the crying one in these group images?

Next we went to music class and C was very excited to be back to dance and sing her little heart out.

Noah loves music class as well!

Some blurry bubble playing photos...C now knows when the lights are turned off in the classroom the bubbles come out and she gets very excited.

A fun end to a fun weekend indeed!
