Back to Austin posts :)
On Saturday morning I requested to just sleep in while the other girls explored the area. It isn't very often that I can sleep until my tired soul desires. Once I woke up and got ready I walked downtown to met the girls at a local restaurant for breakfast. It was pretty muggy on Saturday, in comparison to Friday, and the clouds in the sky were rolling and beautiful.
To show how much live music is embedded into the culture, this restaurant had about half a dozen tables and stage. With live music. On a Saturday morning. It was lovely.
Back at the hotel the girls got ready for the day. Lisa and I laughed uncontrollably at Lindsay's very different shoe styles. Haha...they are all the same shoes, just different colors. :)
We decided to walk to the neighborhood where we took the cab on Friday early evening. It was a nice walk, especially since we were able to enjoy the view of the river on our way.
Some lovely graffiti on the wall...
We went back to Hotel San Jose to grab a few photos during the daytime.
And, of course, a self time photo or two :)
There were food truck vendors all over town, including about a dozen in one parking lot.
We shopped about about half a dozen different boutique stores and Lindsay bought a ton of fabulous items and Lisa found the perfect dress for her friends wedding this summer. I tried very hard to make a purchase or two for myself, but I was unsuccessful. At least I tried!
We decided to by pass the truck vendors and head to an outdoor grill, Doc's, since we decided it was happy hour again.
I requested a lighter style local Texas beer and it was lovely.
Doc's was packed and we had a good time people watching, eating some appetizers and taking pictures of our mirrored reflection in the garage doors on the ceiling.
Sometimes we were a little anti-social during our happy hour, but we were productive. Here the lovely L's are booking a dinner reservation for the evening and scoping out the rest of the evening entertainment plans.
A mini-beer floating in an ice cold margarita...
We started our walk back to the Omni taking in the sights of skyline amongst the big ol' Texas sky.
More on the escapades on our Saturday night later this week :)
