Quick Update

I haven't posted anything on the photography blog in oh so long...I have been so busy with other things that I have not been able to devote as much time as needed to marketing myself. I know that my time will come...on a weekly basis, I tell Damon that I want to throw myself into it full force, but we are both so conservative and the thought just really scares us. So, in the meantime, I will continue learning and reading and playing until the thought of "taking the plunge" doesn't evoke mind numbing fear. Please enjoy some photos of Trenton's birthday party at...
Damon and I have been enjoying watching the days fly off the calendar like there is no tomorrow. Seriously, it is already the last day in November? Just tonight, on our drive home, I said that the next month was October and I truly believed myself. I just cannot grasp the moments fast enough. I might make my 2009 resolution to be to find out a way to slow down the minutes in each day...or at least enjoy the minutes more.
I will post tomorrow on the Thanksgiving festivities...my third load of laundry since walking in the door an hour ago is ready to be tended to while my husband and dog catch some much needed sleep on the couch.

Guess Where I Am Going In Two Weeks?

I just booked my room, flight and ticket for a super quick trip to....

And the best part is that I am joining the Straub family there to celebrate Trenton's 4th birthday plus my sister and Geoff are coming too! I am oh so excited, I have been to Disneyland probably 12 times and I have never been there at Christmas. WHOOHOOO. It truly is the happiest place on earth :)

A Good Time in Chico

Damon and I share many loves...the outdoors, black labs, our families, mexican food, snoring, each other and Chico. We both went to college there, but we were just a few years apart. In fact an entire governor of the state of CA started and ended his term between the signing of our diplomas. During our 4 years together we have only visited Chico together for about 2 hours (for a lunch with Howli and Corey the day before we got engaged) and it just wasn't enough time. I wanted to share EVERYTHING with Damon...my favorite parts on campus, where I lived, where I worked, my favorite places to eat, what streets I loved walking on, the list goes on. We were supposed to go to Chico over Labor Day, but then our little Cyrus got sick.
For a variety of reasons, we were there the other weekend. I was oh so excited...it was just a blast. As we drove to our hotel room, it was like a compartment in my brain opened back up and I knew all the streets and businesses. Damon asked were an auto part store was, and I said about 5 blocks up on the left. I was very impressed with myself. I decided that our first Chico dinner would be the infamous Hula's Mandarin BBQ. Is was just as good as I remember...here are our take-out boxes for proof:

Then we headed to Joe's Bar for a New Year Seltzer, my favorite drink of all time...but, I was a little disappointed. They just don't make them like they used to. But, the music and ambiance of the bar hadn't changed. We sat around and immersed ourselves the conversations of young carefree college students. For a few moments, I felt like I could be one of them. And then I remembered our mortgages, the many insurance policies needing to be paid at home and our leaky sliding glass door...

We also left our mark playing our favorite bar game, Photo Hunt....see all the Morelli's listed?

I already have the game plan for the next trip, hopefully we will be back to visit soon.

More Colusa Pictures

Here are the rest of the pictures from last weekend...I don't have too much more to say, I am too tired for words. Just got home from a wedding photojournalism workshop and my head is a buzzing with f-stops, fill flash and album designs. Anyways, back to the doggies...

Miss Michelle taking pictures of her boys...

Randy and Dakota...

My Shasta...

More Shasta...our non-stop huntin' machine.

You can really see how dry and dusty the field was in this picture of Randy and Dakota...

Buddy's dog, Ruger...

There were lots of bunny rabbits in the fields, the dogs just love chasing them!

A blurry fast moving Dakota...

Doesn't Shasta look so cute and tiny in these pictures...our little girl will be two years old on December 6th! She certainly doesn't look like it!

Another Colusa Weekend

Damon and I had another fun filled weekend in Colusa...here are the pictures of my favorite Straub boys...aren't they dreamy?

The boys were wearing Wranglers and Michelle and I just fell in love with their little "Wrangler" butts. They totally caught on that we were trying to get pictures of their back sides and got all embarrassed.

Here is Trenton in his little Wrangler's...

Of course, what day with two boys age 4 and 6.5 is complete without muddy hands?

Casen is becoming a football player with the mud...
