Disneyland Part Four

The absolute highlight of the Disneyland trip was the Monday afternoon Princess Excursion. Ryanne was very excited to meet the Princesses and Tinker Bell. She loves Sleeping Beauty and sings all of her songs. While we were waiting in line, we noticed all of the other little girls wearing their dress up princess gear. Ryanne (and her mom, grandma, and aunt) started to feel a little left out. I decided to let Ryanne know that if she was good in line (it was a long one), that I would treat her to a dress for Christmas. Well, that didn't last too long. I ran to get money from Damon and decided to take a sneak peak into the store. Ryanne noticed, and followed me with Leana. We were both surprised when she picked out the Snow White dress, not the Sleeping Beauty dress. She was so excited to get the headband, the wand and the dress...here is her reaction to seeing herself in the mirror...

She loves the pink cape...and spent the entire rest of the day looking over her shoulder at her cape.

She thanked me profusely the entire time (and she still thanks me everytime she sees me.) So adorable!

At the register, Ryanne decided that she also needed the princess autograph book. She loved that as well.
Blowing kisses...
Ryanne made a friend in line, the little girl had already visited the Princesses several times and even offered Ryanne some candy, too cute.

I had never been to the Princess place before, let me just tell you it was totally worth the wait. They have 7 different princesses that rotate through, we were all hoping that there would be good princesses for Ryanne to meet. And we lucked out. First there was Belle...

And then Sleeping Beauty...

And finally, Snow White. It was adorable. All of the princesses spent a few minutes with Ryanne alone. Snow White went all out and asked Ryanne which of the dwarfs let her into her closet and what she was bringing to the ball (no apple desserts please!) Seriously, I was crying by the time we were done. It was all just too precious. To see Ryanne's little princess dreams come true was just adorable.

Funny story, as we were waiting in line, Leana asked Ryanne if she wanted any water and Ryanne said "no, no, mommy, you say Snow White do you want any water." Love the little diva behavior :)
I never understood why parents would let their kids run around Disneyland in their princess garb. I now officially understand and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Alicia's First Baby Shower

This past weekend was a busy one, but the highlight was Alicia's first baby shower on Saturday morning. My Auntie Susan, Auntie Paula and myself hosted the shower and got the invites out at the beginning of the month, so it was all a little bit rushed, but the good part is that you would never know! With one planning meeting on the Wednesday before, we were able to transform Auntie Susan's house into a pink celebration for Alicia. I personally think that the highlight was the dessert...Sift cupcakes, yum!
The vase favors with fresh cut roses and little baby accessories.

Since this was the family shower, we thought it would be fun to decorate with family photos. We had a great time looking through the old albums.

Here is a picture of my dad with his girls in Disneyland in 1985. I didn't want to zoom in too much, his shorts are shorter than any pair that I own!

My dad and Alicia in the hospital, love the sideburns!
My beautiful mom and Alicia when she was a few months old.

Alicia holding me (she was 3 years and 9 months old - look at those adorable curls!)

Yummy food prepared by Auntie Paula...

My Uncle Dickie brought my Aunt Sandi to the shower for a few minutes. She just got out of the hospital to get some cancer removed, thankfully she is doing well, but we are all still concerned. Uncle Dickie also "crashed" Alicia's wedding shower, so it was perfect that he came to the baby shower as well.

My sister and I...

Alicia and Grandma Theresa...

My beautiful Auntie Paula...

Of course, I had to purchase some Disneyland goodies for my next niece as well...

This Cars onesie says "Who Backfired?" I got that one for Geoff!

This was the family shower and it was nice and intimate. We were all able to sit around Aunt Susan's table and talk. It was lovely.

Even my mom got a present!

Our Uncle Howard and Aunt Mary...

My mother in law Kris with Alicia...

We had the guests bring photos of themselves, can you tell who this one is? My grandma!
