Starks to Celebrate 40 Years

In August we took my parents to Starks steakhouse to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.  They are such an inspiration to my sister and I and it was great spending a long dinner (without kiddos!)

We were fortunate to drop C off at Krystina's house for a playdate with the lovely Martens family.  So thankful for their friendship and their love for my girl.

Dinner was awesome, as it always it.  Love that place :)

The sweet lovebirds...

My own hubby and I...

Damon's parents also celebrated 40 years of marriage this year....such a rare treat that we don't take for granted.

Weekend in Chico - Part Three

Here are a few more pictures of our campus adventures taken with my other camera :)

We got more compliments on Shasta on campus that Cambrie...usually its the other way around :)  But the college kids all missed their doggies at home!

Both girls loved the open spaces to run around and be wild.

This is how she climbs into her stroller - silly girl!

She just walks around like she owns the place!

These pictures were from Sunday when we visited the Engineering side of campus.

The next set of pictures were for part of my photo leadership project, but I just wanted to share as well.

Seeing this sign brought back so many memories of my Summer Orientation days...

And, of course, we loved Chico as much as the students do.

Damon and I would love if Cambrie chose to go to Chico State, but we will let the college decision be her own.  I just keep having to reminding myself that now, so that I won't push her to become a Wildcat :)

Weekend in Chico - Part Two

On Saturday morning in Chico we headed to the hotel breakfast, then went straight to campus.  I actually had a quick photo assignment with a leadership group on campus, but first we walked around  the beautiful campus admiring it all.  That campus just never gets old.  It is gorgeous, functional and the perfect size.

Damon and I love talking about what classes we had where and what changes have been made since we attended.  Each time we visit they have improved areas to make it even more user friendly and modern, while retaining the classic brick feel too :)

After buying new tshirts in the bookstore we headed to Hulas for lunch.  Cambrie loved picking everything out and then watching the employees cook it for her.

Yummy bowl of Mongolian BBQ!

Once we got back to the hotel we rested for a little and then headed out to the pool.  This girl and her cowboy boots :)

C loved the swimming pool and it was a perfect introduction to her upcoming swim lessons.

We just hung out at the hotel that night, drank some beer, rented a movie and played in the room.  The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel again before heading back to campus for some more exploring.

Again, so many awesome trails...

I should have cropped this picture, but here we are throwing up our 'C's' with our hands for Chico (and Cambrie)!
