Thanksgiving Morning 2012

Thanksgiving is a busy time of the year for photography and I wasn't really into the holiday, I was just working too much to get too spirited this year.  But, I am all game for Christmas (in fact I decorated our house with Cambrie's help the day after Thanksgiving)!  The morning of turkey day Damon and Cambrie let me sleep in.  It was glorious.

When I finally got out of bed, I turned on the Thanksgiving Parade and Cambrie just loved it. Especially when she saw the giant Mickey Mouse and the tap dancers :)

She loves cuddling with her Dada!

After eating her lunch with a front row seat for the parade, she took a nap in preparation for her turkey dinner.  When she woke up her Grandmama came over to visit.  They decided to go outside and blow a few bubbles.  Cambrie knows that you need shoes and jackets to go outside and is pretty frantic about running around to find them.  Heehee!

Cambrie loves her Grandmama.  She knows her car and gets so excited when she sees it.

We didn't get to see the rest of Damon's family on Thanksgiving, but we had a great feast with them two days later.  I always enjoying dragging the holidays out a little longer :)

Shasta wanted to get in on the bubble blowing action too!

It was a great start to the holiday, our evening fun will be posted soon.

Landon's Pizza Party

We typically have welcome home parties in our family for new babies...but due to Landon being born closer to Christmas we decided to just have a smaller pizza party at my parents house just with close aunts and uncles.  It was really nice for my parents to host everyone and we all loved having some Landon snuggle time :)

Cambrie and Avery were chowing down on the crackers and dip - I have no clue why my mom put the appetizers on the coffee table close in the girls reach.  But, the girls were also super sweet and would bring us appetizers upon request.   My dad and I enjoyed getting served :)

As I have said many times before, Cambrie is pretty musical.  She loves singing, memorizes songs easily, taps along to the beat and loves the piano.  Now that she is bigger she can just help herself to the keys.  It is really sweet.

Per usual, Cambrie obsessed over Landon everytime she caught a glimpse of him...

Here is the whole group!

Cambrie put on her Giants sweatshirt and was excited to match Uncle Dickie, but she refused to take a picture with him, so I had to hop in for her.

Landon loved his new stuffed tractor too!

Seems just like yesterday we had a welcome home party for my sweet baby...

Our Fun Trip To Kaiser

The weekend before Thanksgiving Damon was hunting and Cambrie woke up screaming.  Screaming screaming oh so loud.  I got her out of bed, thought that maybe she was stuck in her crib and brought her back to bed with me.  We cuddled in bed for awhile and she still whimpered.  I tried checking her out and seeing what was wrong.  When I touched her right shoulder she cried and when I touched her right hand she screamed.  So, I called Damon home from hunting and made an appointment at Kaiser for one hour later.  I am so thankful that Kaiser is open for appointments on the weekend and that we didn't need to make a ER spot.

You can kinda see her not using her right arm in these pictures, it is just hanging at her side.

But, she picked up using the left one over the right one super quickly.

Before we left for Kaiser I read up on elbow dislocation and thought that it seemed like what Cambrie was experiencing.  The article online talked about how the doctor would just pop it back into place and that everything would be fine afterwards.  It also stated that xrays would only be needed if something was broken or seriously wrong.

So, as we were called into the doctors office and they started examining her there were screams.  Heart breaking screams and tears from Cambrie.

The doctor was puzzled since she has mobility in her arm.  Usually with a dislocation there isn't any movement in the arm.  After more screaming the doctor ordered some xrays for Cambrie since she was still puzzled about the nature of her injury,

So, we headed off to medical imaging.  One tired hurt baby and two scared parents.  It was horrific.  Holding her down on the xray machine was the worst 15 minutes of my life.  It was beyond scary.

Cambrie fell asleep in my arms on our way back to the doctor's office, poor thing was exhausted.  When we got back into the exam room she was still sleeping, but the doctor confirmed that she didn't fracture or break anything.  (They were concerned about a possible collar bone break).  She examined Cambrie again and determined that during the examinations (or xray hold down) that we must have popped her arm/elbow/hand back into place.

As soon as we walked outside, Cambrie said 'outside' 'Dada's big truck' and just like that she started moving her arm again and was her happy self.  I told Damon that I was glad that he was able to witness her in her sad state because you would never know what a horrible morning she had by her mannerisms that afternoon.

Unfortunately, we do not know exactly what happened.  She was probably fooling around in her crib, stood up and hung onto the railings, then sat back down while keeping one of her arms on the railing.  We are researching a possible crib/toddler bed conversion, but just aren't just what will be the best.  Clearly, we do not want to have a repeat of this.

And, to show the difference that a few hours makes...here is my happy girl driving home from Kaiser.  What a difference!

Ladies and Babies Dinner

Since I was up in Windsor for photo sessions we were able to coordinate a dinner with the ladies and the babies.  It was great to see everyone and catch up for an hour or so.  Our kiddos loved the pasta that Meredith cooked for everyone.

Miss PJ is getting soooo big!

Haha - funny faces while eating!

PJ was awfully nice sharing all of her toys with Noah and Cambrie.  And, of course, Noah and Cambrie loved the new toys to play with.

Noah especially enjoyed playing with Boone...hint, hint Justin!

This picture looks like Shasta and Cambrie :)

Best buddies for ever...

We will find out in about two weeks if Meredith and Mike will be adding another girl or boy to the ladies and babies mix.  Whoohoo!
