Four Month Doctors Appointment

On Friday, May 20th Cambrie had her four month appointment at Kaiser and Damon took the day off to spend with us. Before our afternoon appointment we headed to Yountville to the Department of Fish and Game to change my last name on my hunting license (still under Cambra after 5 years) and purchase all the various tags and licenses that come with the hunting seasons. The wait was ridiculously long, the other patrons waiting were extremely entertaining, the bill was a little expensive, and my little one slept through the entire experience. After her four hour long nap (!) we arrived at Kaiser to have our little monkey checked out.

She was seen by her regular doctor, plus a resident and they both told us how perfect she is. We felt pretty good that two doctors confirmed our perfect daughter.

Cambrie weighs 14 pounds 3.5 ounces and is 26 inches long. Her weight is at the 60%, her height is 75% and her head is 85%. Growing like a little champion! Although the doctor said she is ready to start solids, we aren't ready yet, so we will be discussing it at her next appointment. She does have eczema, which isn' a surprise since I had it so bad when I was her age that I had to wear gloves constantly to stop me from scratching my skin.

We are so thankful that Cambrie continues to flourish and thrive in our family. She is truly the best and we love her to pieces.

Monday Music Class - Part Two

Last week we were so excited that Damon decided to join us for music class. Cambrie loved singing and dancing with her father, plus then we had someone to take our photo :)

Again, she was obsessed with scratching the toys, like this textured ball.

The class includes a lot of stretching to music, using sign language along with the lyrics, and lots and lots of smiles.

Cambrie also loved the hand rattles...

We put her in her boppy during class so that she can fully see our sign languages and faces while signing. Unfortunately, Cambrie sometimes has more of an interest in craning her neck to see the other kiddos in class.

I am so blessed to be able to enjoy these days of development and fun with my little girl. I know that she won't remember all (okay, any) of the details about music class, but I know that I will. She is already obsessed with the CD from class, when she is fussy in the car if we turn on the 'Wheels on the Bus' she instantly stops crying. :)

Monday's Music Class

C just loves her music class on Monday mornings. I am so happy that we signed her up for the five week class. She loves the music, but I think that she loves the big kids more (the age range is from newborn to 18 months).

Two weeks ago my dad joined us for the fun. He was a little skeptical, but I think that he ended up enjoying it. Before the start of each class there are different toys laid out for the little ones to play with. This morning we had drums and Cambrie learned how to scratch the surface and now she won't stop scratching everything with her fingernails.

Sometimes all of the stimulation is too much for my girl and she falls asleep in class. This particular day she fell asleep while we were dancing the polka dance :)

One of the best parts about music class is meeting Damon for lunch afterwards at El Patio for some Mexican food. Damon and I used to meet their often for lunch when I worked at The Press Democrat and he was at Green Valley before we were married. It seems like so long ago...who would've thought that we would be bringing our daughter there one day :)

We signed up for a June music class too - this time with Alicia and Avery. Oh my - the fun!!!!

Avery and Cambrie

Two weekends ago I had a morning photo session in Windsor so my sister babysat Cambrie. This was what I got to see when I walked in the door, complete with a 'b' (Avery's word for blanket) and a 'meow-meow' (Avery's word for cat) keeping Cambrie comfortable during her nap.

I hung out for awhile until Avery went down for her nap, it was nice to have some individual time with her niece.

Avery isn't very interested in television, unless she is with her Papa Tim and is watching sports, specifically baseball. Geoff purchased some Disney DVD's at Costco and decided to show Avery the Nemo movie. She was very excited to see all of the photos on the cover, so they decided to play the movie for her. She was interested for about .2 seconds and then reverted back to playing with the movie case. What a cutiepie.

This past weekend Avery made her first trip to the coast (well, she went before but was too little to remember) and her first word when seeing the water was 'Nemo.' Clearly she understood all about Nemo from viewing the movie case!

I Thought Easter Was Over...

Ryanne was having so much fun hunting for eggs that she continued with Easter egg hunts at her house into the month of May. Tyler put the rock fireplace into good use during this mini-egg-hunt. Love the grin. Love that girl.

Starting to Roll Over

At our Cinco de Mayo dinner, I was in the kitchen making black bean enchiladas (yummy!) and looked over at Cambrie. When I walked away from her she was laying on her back and was having fun talking to her big cousin Ryanne.

But then she moved her little legs with her big ol' cloth diapered bum...

and officially rolled on to her side.

All by herself.

What a big girl she is growing up to be already, especially when she is laying next to her little cousin Charlotte. These girls are so cute together, they are going to have the best time together growing up!

Cambrie versus Momma

Hands down, my daughter looks like Damon. Without my blue eyes and the fact that she grew in my 'belly' it is hard to see the similarities the majority of the time. But, in those minority times I do have these two images to show how Cambrie and I are related.

Newest Members of the Killpack Family

On Cinco de Mayo we headed up to the Killpack's for a fiesta dinner with family, including the newest members of the Killpack family:

Ryanne asked for me to take pictures of her with each of her chickens, she loves them all so much.

Since Damon's mom was out of town, I offered to pick Ryanne up from her daycare and bring her home. Of course, we just 'had' to stop off for yogurt at her favorite place first.

Morelli Family Dinner

Damon's mom went to Mexico for 10 days at the beginning of the month, so we had a family pizza night together before she left. Tyler made some fabulous pizzas on the big green egg bbq. Homemade pizzas remind me of nights in Chico when we needed to clean out the items in the fridge, so we would buy some pizza dough from Woodstock's and make dinner :)

Ryanne was so excited that she slept through most of the evening, love that sleeping face!

Getting some snuggle time with Charlotte...it amazes me that Cambrie was once that small.

Love this smiley face that my daughter makes...squinty eyes, tongue sticking out and pure joy written all across her face. My mom pointed out that I made this same smiley face when I was little, I will upload that picture soon for comparison.
