Stuart Little

It was another Friday night date for my best girl and I at the Wells Fargo Center.  This time to see the Stuart Little play.   I forgot to introduce C to him prior to the play so she wasn't as invested in him and his storyline.  And since  it was a pretty mature play for her age, she was a little scared as some of the characters.  But, she still liked it and sat well through the performance.

Once again, her favorite part was buying a book (we picked out Mouse Paint and If You Give A Mouse A Cookie) then stood in line to have Stuart Little and Margalow (his birdie friend) sign her book.

And, then, she loves getting her photos taken with Snoopy and Woodstock.

The Mouse Paint book is from the early 80's - it is a little dated but C just loves it!  And I was shocked that Damon had never read If You Give A Mouse A Cookie - I loved that book when I was little.  We have read both of them every night for a few days now :)

Grampies 87th Birthday

On the 17th my Grandfather celebrated his 87th birthday.  Cambrie painted a photo up at the ranch that we gave to him. She also signed her name all by herself.  Can you see it?  (She doesn't quite get it all to fit on one line and her B is rotated - it is the sweetest thing!)

The cousins enjoyed the lovely weather running around like crazy in the backyard.  My grandparents have a great backyard for playing.  Flat with concrete and grass.

Everyone had a good time singing to Grampie - in fact, we lit the candles twice to sing.  Just because.

My grandfather is so good with the kiddos, they adore him and they all know just how special his is.

And, because both of the girls are 3 at the same time, we threw up our number 3's :)

I am so thankful for these memories with my daughter and my grandparent.  The reality of the situation is that these moments are coming to a close.  Whether it is one year or ten years from now.  I want to ensure that Cambrie has as many experiences with them and that I document them with photos for her to look back on as she grows.

Museum with PJ and Cami (and a Million Other Kiddos)

I thought it would be fun to go to the museum on Presidents Day to celebrate Chinese New Year and I figured it wouldn't be that crazy busy since lots of people would be out of town enjoying the three day weekend.  Well, I was wrong.  Oh so wrong.

When we pulled up the overflow parking was full and there were valet attendants everyone - something that I didn't even know was possible.  Meredith and her adorable family joined us and it was fun seeing the girls together.  Miss Cami is getting so big!

Damon hasn't been with us for awhile and Cambire was excited to have him there with her to play.

When its cloudy Cambrie still talks about how the sun is up above the clouds like at the museum.

Learning to recycle...

Having lunch...

Oh my - these girls are so sweet!

Love them!

Auntie Susan's 60th Birthday Party

My beautiful Auntie Susan turned 60 this month and the family celebrated with a lovely evening dessert party for her.

It had been a week since Avery and Cambrie saw one another but you would have thought it was years.  They were squealing SO loudly when they saw one another.

It was so nice to see everyone together again, especially since Diana was in town from Arizona.  Naturally, she crowned her mom with a tiara :)

The party started at 7 which is a pretty late start time for the three kiddos under the age of three.  Since there were a lot of people there we just let them run wild (and loud) in the hallway for about an hour.

Both girls are enjoying being 3 for the next few weeks together - Avery turns 4 in March.

Diana put together a gorgeous book with stories and pictures that everyone enjoyed looking at.

Look at the gorgeous desserts!

During the toasts I caught her 3 brothers hiding out in the kitchen.  Typical brothers!

The Cambra clan...

C found her digital camera in her diaper bag and was taking some pictures.  Aunt Susan didn't quite realize it was a real camera :)

My Uncle Dickie brought my Aunt a glass Coca-Cola bottle to remind her about that one time she stole his train, he got mad and promptly busted a bottle over her head.  They all laughed at the stitches, what their mom did to clean up the mess and how often they were in and out of the emergency room.  These four siblings have so many stories - I wish that we could sit them in a room without distractions and just have them talk about their childhood so I could document it.  Maybe one day....

My Aunt Susan is the perfect example of a thoughtful authentic person and I am honored that she is part of my family.  Looking forward to the next 60 years :)
