Lorens 65th Birthday Parties

This is a going to be a long blog post, but I think a 65th birthday deserves it :)

Damons dad, Loren, turned 65 in March and Kris wanted to celebrate him.  We started with a traditional dinner up at the ranch with the family.  It was a beautiful evening!

Cambrie reloaded a box of shot gun shells for Papa Loren and decorated the box for him.  It was a sweet present!

The Killpacks had the Morelli cattle brand embroidered on hats - such a great idea and Loren loved them!

The next day Avery had a friend birthday party at Rebounderz.  We dropped C off to play and headed out to Occidental to set-up for Lorens huge surprise party at the Union Hotel.  

My dad made sure to send me some pictures of my girl running around like crazy!

Kris pulled off a HUGE surprise party - Lorens reaction was the best!  So fun!!

Lots of pictures, lots of wine and friends from all over came to celebrate.

My parents brought C just in time for the festivities...my sweet girl actually wore a dress and I loved every minute of it!

She also got to drink a Sprite out of the bottle - which is a super big deal!

There were a ton a great speeches and Loren went around the room talking about each person which was super meaningful.  He kept joking that it was like he was attending his own funeral :(

I am thankful to have spend time with Loren and am thankful of the son that he raised.  I am looking forward to many more celebrations with him over the years.  And I am so impressed that Kris was able to pull of such a wonderful big surprise party!

Avery's 8th Birthday Mermaid Party

Avery celebrated her 8th birthday in March with a party fit for a mermaid.  My dad always jokes about when my sister and I are going to stop with the family birthday parties, but we love any excuse to bake a fun cake, decorate the house and spend time with our extended family.

After Avery opened her presents the adults played a little virtual reality Star Wars game - it was highly entertaining!

Hard to believe that Avery is 8...time just goes too quickly for my heart to handle.

Monster Trucks in Oakland

I'm not quite sure how I am going to top Damons Christmas present last year.  We only do gifts if they are meaningful or something the whole family can enjoy.  And this gift was the perfect one....Monster Trucks in Oakland!

Damon introduced me to Monster Trucks at the beginning of our relationship and it is a yearly occurrence for us, but typically at the Sonoma County Fair.  This was the big show...the last qualifier before nationals.  

Our Pit Passes were amazing - we got to see every single truck and meet a ton of drivers.  

The drivers were all super nice...I was really impressed.

They all signed a t-shirt for C (gotta love the souvenir and autograph book all in one).  (Look at Rosalee nails that coordinate with her truck!)

The event was in the As stadium and it was pretty cold...thankfully we had lots of layers.  I though that I had purchased pretty good seats and I was wrong....they were amazing seats. Damon was impressed, so that is always nice :)

We loved seeing how they set everything up in person, since we have watched many times on tv.

My family was all smiles during the two hour show!

We had a great (long) family day together.  I highly recommend experiencing the 'real' Monster Trucks!
