Disneyland Trip - Part One

I think that it might take me about one month to get through all of the photos and stories from the Disneyland trip.  I will try to mix the posts up with other non-Disneyland posts as well.

After a few busy days preparing for the trip (which always includes shopping, lots of shopping), working, cleaning the house and trying to get some sleep, we left around 6:00 on Wednesday, May 2nd.  Cambrie actually woke up while we were getting ready, so we were able to get her dressed and strapped into her carseat for the long ride.  We met up with my family after about two hours of driving (C slept for most of the time) at McDonalds.  Everyone was very happy to see one another.

We even had a little highchair ride between the girls...

We stopped two more times before making it to our hotel around 3:00.  It was a long travel time, but we wanted to girls to be able to run around and burn some energy at each stop, so they were pretty lengthy.  During the last leg of the trip my mom rode with Damon and I to keep Miss C company.

As we drove into the hotel parking lot - C saw a Disney bus and got so excited.  Damon and I just smiled at one another knowing that this was going to be a great trip.  We stayed across the street from the entrance to the park and it was a great location, not the nicest rooms.  But a good price for a place to sleep, since we did spend the majority of our time at the park.

On our way into the park that afternoon, Cambrie also got extremely excited at all the Mickey Mouse ears around the area...like this park bench end.  She spotted Mickey's all throughout the trip and would squeal with excitement each time.  It never got old :)

Damon is a big fan of Goofy, or Honky Donkey as he calls him (not sure where that name came from, but that it was he called him as a child), so he was excited to get the Goofy ticket stub :)

Right upon entering the park, we saw Pluto and raced over to see him.  Avery was extremely excited, Cambrie was a little more reserved, but she still didn't cry.

The first ride that we took C on was Dumbo.  I stood in line until we got closer to the entrance, so was very puzzled about what was going on and was able to watch the ride several times before it was our turn.  Cambrie is very observation and needs time to assimilate to the a new experience/environment, so the line waiting turned out to be a positive for us :)

We then headed over to the carousel, which we figured wouldn't be a big deal.  Oh my heavens.  She did not like her first experience, as evidenced below.  Damon does a fabulous impression...

I joined Avery when she was able to meet with some of her favorite Princesses.  I had tears of joy, just like I did with Ryanne a few years ago. It is such a great experience for little girls.

After meeting the Princesses, we headed over to the small world ride, the first of many many rides on the colorful boats.

One positive about having such a large group is that we were able to have a boat all to ourselves :)

Cambrie LOVED it!

After grabbing some dinner we headed over to the parade route where Cambrie was able to see Mickey for the first time.  And dance along to the music while on my shoulders.

The park closed at 9:00 and we headed out shortly before then.  It made me a little sad to be leaving the park before it was closed, but this trip was very different than other trips we have been on.

All the excitement wore out my little misses...

but my parents, Damon and I weren't going to miss out on a little Cold Stone night cap.
